New beginnings

When I set up my other blog, all those years ago, my crafty interest was card making, along with a bit of beading and knitting. I rarely make cards these days as my crafty passion is sewing, although I still knit, so I thought it time to set up a blog with a more relevant title.

So welcome to my new blog, Sam in Stitches. I look forward to sharing my stitchy projects with you.

On Saturday I went to the Malvern quilt show. I made a few crafty purchases including a new machine, which was delivered today, so excited.......

It took me a loooonnnnnggggg time to thread and I still haven't managed to suss out how to use the automatic needle threader! I am looking forward to having the extra throat space to make free motion quilting easier!

These pouches are from a kit I bought. The pattern was for the larger pouch with the option to put a pocket on it but when I saw how much fabric was left I knew I could make a smaller pouch - mother and baby pouches. These were quick and easy to make - I shall definitely be making more. They are an ideal size for keeping handsewing such as EPP in.

Off to practice my FMQ - wish me luck....

Oh dear, went off to add a hyperlink to another blog and forgot to come back! That was about 10 days ago, in the interim I have been on holiday and had time to practice threading my machine - I can now thread it without looking at the instructions and have worked out how to use the automatic needle threader so feeling pretty chuffed with myself!!

Off to practice some more and enjoy the last few hours of the weekend - back to work tomorrow.

Sam xx
